One problem with conventional hearing aids is their tendency to cause infection and ear drum damage from moisture, as well as feedback if not properly placed in the ear. To alleviate these issues, this updated hearing aid design features directional speakers that leave the canal exposed so the ear can “breathe.” Because it’s directional, sound doesn’t return to the microphone and cause feedback. Better yet, no mold is required as it clips on the ear and can be adjusted accordingly.
