Hey YD’ers (ya-dee-ers), please help me welcome our newest member to the YD family, none of than Brian Ling. His name may seem familiar for the countless awards he’s won or you may have come across his blog Design Sojourn. He comes with years of experience in the industry working for some of the biggest names in electronics and his writing has been featured in numerous publications. He’s here to answer any of your questions regarding the ID industry. Hit the jump for his full bio.
Brian is a multi-disciplinary industrial design leader that specializes in strategic design language and product realization programs that drive successful brands and businesses. He has collaborated and worked with many multi-national brands such as Motorola, HP, GE, Ericsson/Flextronics, Akai, Sansui, SVA, Hannspree, Nakamichi and Philips.
Brian, an avid blogger and design entrepreneur, often shares his thoughts on Strategic Industrial Design at his Design Sojourn site. His is really embarrassed to say that his writing and design work has been featured on Sydney Morning Herald, Wired Magazine, 360 Innovation Magazine, Marketing Magazine, Engadget China, Future Labs, Yanko Design and Design Taxi.
Brian also gives back to the local design community by engaging students, mentoring designers, giving public lectures, and helping organize design events such as the 2009 ICSID Congress in Singapore. He laments the lack of good Affogatos, Soya Mochas and Italian Pizzas in Asia.
