Ara is a compact bookshelf designed for the sporadic reader! Its simple form is derived from optimizing proportions and structural cues from its material – thermoformed + laser cut acrylic. Its stance presents a playful leaning gesture, implying a “resting” position for the books that aren’t being read. Whenever a book is removed, more of Ara’s vibrant color is revealed.
