Bang and Olufsen are probably the only audio-tech OEM that manufacture their speakers as sculptural art-pieces. Sadly, I can’t afford Bang and Olufsen, but there is the Solo by EMIE. The Solo, living up to its name is a single-unit speaker that still manages to kick out some crazy sound. Its gramophone-esque shape allows it to deliver superior surround sound despite its relatively small size.
On the design front, Solo absolutely nails the high-end look, with its beautiful blend of wood and metal. Don’t be fooled by its simple design… most designers strive tirelessly to achieve this level of effortless simplicity! The simplicity extends to the UI of the speaker. On the back, as a part of the wood panel, lies a capacitive touchscreen that delivers a smooth, button-less experience. Audio tech never felt this good!
