The single best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in the society where that language is native, however, very few have the luxury of being able to do this! Mersiv is a modern language-learning device that brings the same type of immersive learning to you, wherever you are!
Mersiv utilizes a camera, microphone and headphones to identify and tailor unique micro language lessons directly reliant to the user in that moment, transforming the world around them into an immersive language lesson. As the wearer is walking, everyday objects are recognized by the camera and identified in both the user’s native language and the language being learned. Depending on the lesson type, Mersiv will also give context to the object by teaching full sentences.
The pendant design perfectly positions it to accurately and unobtrusively capture images from the user’s point of view. The 140 degree wide angle lens periodically captures images, which Mersiv uses to generate the personalized micro language lessons. A built in microphone allows Mersiv to listen, enabling the user to interact with the device through speech. It also identifies words and sounds to help tailor the lessons.
