Danish audio giant Bang & Olufsen have provided us with some truly gorgeous hardware over the last few years. It’s safe to say their design language has a timeless and premium quality, and the new Beoplay E8 earphones are no exception. Coming in a bit heavy on the wallet, these are the first truly wireless headphones by B&O Play. With the Apple AirPods, Google Pixelbuds and Bose Soundsport Free hitting the market at a lower price, these earphones are explicitly designed for audiophiles who are willing to splash out not only for quality but the look and feel of a luxury product too.
The E8 is unlike the Bose Soundsport Free and many other earphones whose design allows for exercise and active use – the E8 is not sweat resistant and are made for those who want nothing but great sound (almost) anywhere, anytime. The design of the headphones themselves is simplified and very minimal – not necessarily a positive or a negative but definitely ties in with the rest of the Beoplay brand. What truly accentuates the luxurious and premium feel of the E8 earphones is their leather travel case. The travel case has a magnetic catch, a complimenting cotton tether, and an overall compact design, perfect to pop into one’s pocket. The case for these earphones adds the touch of elegance to these little guys that are so commonly found across the B&O brand.
