Inspired by the reflection of mountains against a still lake (a common theme in metaphors for duality), the SAN stool is a reflection itself of traditional Japanese joinery, textiles and functionality. Its unique joineries are made using the traditional tenon and mortise technique. The resulting details are subtle yet artistic. As multifunctional as it is simplistic, this design is ideal for use in small homes where space is limited as the stool can be divided into a seating mat and tray for dining or working cross-legged.
