With a design language that isn’t over the top, the NUB Watch sticks to a subdued aesthetic with a self-colored dial, markings, and hour and minute hand, telling time pretty splendidly through the use of depth and the interplay of light and shade. Against this self-colored arrangement stands a brightly colored seconds hand, punctuating the design of the entire watch dial, like a bold signature at the end of a minimalist painting.

Engineered in London, with the movement being assembled in Switzerland the NUB Watch has a British body with a Swiss heart. Encased in 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, sitting underneath a Sapphire crystal top lies the watch’s sandblasted finished dial and hands. The stick markings on the dial are recessed, looking slightly darker than the rest of the dial, while the hands, of the same color, hover above, casting a shadow on the dial below. The watch comes with a date window at the 6 o’clock position rather than the 3 o’clock position, while the crown of the watch sits at a 2 o’clock position too, bringing about a slight imbalance that feels captivating. Sitting underneath the watch face is the Swiss-made, Swiss-assembled Gold-plated 5 jewel Swiss Ronda 7 series movement working well both above and below the water, thanks to the 5atm waterproof casing.

The watch’s subtle yet statement-making style is carried forward throughout the whole design. The steel body comes in silver, gray and black variants, while the watch’s face comes in self-colored matte white, gray, and black. The N1 Collection comes with genuine calf leather straps that integrate into the watch’s body, creating a clear-cut design that doesn’t showcase or exaggerate any design details. Screws, lugs, bolts, all engineering details are hidden from one’s view, allowing the watch’s minimalist design language to shine through beautifully!
