Upgrade cycle of smartphones is not as frequent amid consumers as it was a couple of years back. Perhaps because the improvements are generally incremental than outright functional. But if you love the idea of upgrading to a new iPhone model and adapting to the change (however little it is), you have a reason to read on.
iPhone 15 Pro Max has been in the rumors for as long as memory supports (right after the launch of iPhone 14). While these rumors hypothetically touch on various differences the new model will incorporate, YouTuber Lewis Hilsentegger has gone hands with a sample model (which seems Chinese creation) that shows how the Apple flagship for 2023 would be when it’s launched.
Designer: Unbox Therapy
Hilsentegger of Unbox Therapy gives a glimpse of the upcoming flagship, and it appears that the design will not differ much from its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, there are some subtle variances, and some exciting rumors to note.
One of the most significant updates is the rumored inclusion of a USB Type-C port. This is a massive shift for Apple, which has previously used proprietary Lightning ports on its iPhones ever since. The USB Type-C port is rumored to support Thunderbolt 3.2, which will be a game-changer for people who use the iPhone for big file transfers.
Another noticeable change is the replacement of the signature mute switch – for toggling modes – with a button. The physical button could be like the Action button on the Apple Watch Ultra. There is also an apparent change in the volume rocker. The iPhone 15 Pro Max model shows a uniform button instead of two individual up-and-down rockers.
The Dynamic Island, which houses the TrueDepth camera, is expected to be in the same location but appears thinner. Additionally, the near bezel-less new design of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is accompanied by a new side panel (with brushed finish – aluminum or maybe titanium) with a slight curvature to wrap around the front and back, giving it a sleeker look.
The overall width of the phone is expected to be an mm or so thicker to accommodate a larger battery, but the camera bumps appear less protruded, making the iPhone 15 Pro Max feel thinner in the hand. In addition to the USB C port and a sleeker appearance, iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with some upgrade in the cameras, a new A17 processor, and enhanced battery life; all in all making it the best iPhone ever!
