A great chair or chairs is/are the backbone of your living space. A grave mistake we make is underestimating the importance of the perfect chair. When we really shouldn’t! We spend the majority of our day sitting on chairs, whether we’re working in our home office, enjoying a meal, or simply sitting and reading a book for leisure! Hence, this piece of furniture needs to be not only comfortable but ergonomic and aesthetic as well. The right chair is a boon to your back, helping you maintain a healthy posture, while also managing to perfectly complement the interiors of your home. And we may have found a pretty cool and sustainable one for you – the Bend Chair.
Designer: Waste is More
Designed by the Thai design brand Waste is More, the Bend Chair is built using coffee-based waste, recycled plastic, and wood. The simple and minimalist-looking chair’s seat, back, and arm are made from More’s signature PlasCoff material. The material combines recycled plastic with waste from coffee bean processing, making it a pretty sustainable option for your home!
The various PlasCoff elements are available in three neutral colorways – light beige Crema, a sandy-colored Latte, and a rich brown Espresso. The interesting part is that the deeper the shade, the higher the content of coffee waste. The tones contain two, ten, and twenty percent coffee waste respectively, so you can pick the tone that calls out to you and your living room.
The frame of the chair is built using locally sourced rubber tree timber, which is available in a wide range of finishes and treatments. The chairs can be equipped with a small or large backrest depending on the user’s needs and requirements. The users can also choose between an armchair or a chair without arms. The Bend Chair looks like pure chocolate, but unfortunately it isn’t edible. Its rich and decadent looks would make it a sophisticated and sleek addition to your home space, allowing you to add some wooden elegance without occupying too much space. The Bench Chair is the perfect chair to pick if you’re looking for a mix of ergonomics, functionality, sustainability, and good looks!
